2022.01.29 06:30 Affectionate-Cut-735 New Atlas farmable in >14 maps?
Will the Atlas mechanic be farmable in low tier maps AFTER you hit red maps with it? Maybe i missed it but that is very important for me.
I remember Mathil mentioned it during the chris interview that currently the atlas mechanic offers nothing to low tier maps once you hit red maps. just question for clarification.

2022.01.29 06:30 Chemical-Competition Is Chile truly "open" right now?
I've been wanting to travel to Chile for many years, in particular to see Patagonia. I now have an opportunity on my hands to come, but I am wondering whether the rest of Chile, including Santiago, are truly "open"? By that I mean, are restaurants, clubs, museums open and will I be able to meet people? I am asking because I am currently in a European country that's all but locked down and I know that this just isn't enjoyable at all.
Any sort of input is greatly appreciated!

2022.01.29 06:30 Psychological-Soft-8 I don't know who I am
Ever since I was young for some for some reason I thought that making people think that I'm indifferent to any feeling is cool, idk why I thought that but it's something that stuck with me as years went by.
I'm now 19 and I still follow this principle of making people think I don't care about anything when in reality I do because obviously I'm a human just like everyone and I have feelings to. This persona I've put on has led me to be quite arrogant towards most people including my family. I'm unable to show physical affection to anyone since it makes me feel so weird just because I'm simply not used to it. This is an awful feeling since I know that I'm starting to lose touch with my family and I'm afraid of losing them completely one day. Besides family issues it also ends up messing with my friendships, this is due to the fact that I don't show my emotions because I'm afraid of being judged by my friends, eventually losing them also.
My biggest fear is dying alone so this "personality issue" has been causing me too much stress, I've been trying to get rid of this persona but since it's been with me from when I was a kid, it's too cemented in me. On top of that I have no clue of who I am, therefore not being able to change to the person that I really am. I feel like I'm going down a dark path that'll destroy all my relationships in the future and I can't steer away from it.
Note: I'm not a native English speaker so I apologize if the writing quality isn't the best

2022.01.29 06:30 Repulsive_Narwhal_10 Question: Are we collecting the DNA of at risk species?
I heard a story about cheetahs, and it got me thinking.
I understand that by studying their genetics, biologists have been able to figure out that cheetahs went through a genetic bottleneck about 10,000 years ago. That is, a large part of the population died off, so a limited number of cheetahs repopulated the ecosystem, resulting in less genetic diversity within the species. This is a weakness for the species, giving them them less ability to adapt to changing conditions.
My first thought was: Well, that blows. Is there a way we could change that for the better? Could we use controlled breeding to create differing strains?
My second thought: Wish we had some DNA from extinct cheetahs 10,000 years ago. With CRISPR we could reintroduce it into the species. (But could we? I'm not an expert).
My third thought: Hell, we're going through a massive extinction right now...even if we manage to save some at risk species, they'll suffer similar bottlenecks. But we could save DNA from them now to help later.
So, my question is: We have 23 and me etc. saving tons of human DNA, that's great. Is there any large scale effort being made to save the DNA of animals in the wild (at risk or otherwise)? How about plants? What would such an undertaking require?
