2021.09.16 18:11 lamb2k Help: 19in w/ Composite or 14in w/Component
What’s up y’all? I have a Neo Geo AES, Sega Saturn (Model 2) and N64 in my arsenal. I live in NY so they are primarily running on my HDTV w/ OSSC…. but I’m an OG looking for that CRT vibe.
I’m torn between these 2 units for a basement desk setup.
1 - SONY PVM-14M1J 2 - JVC TM-H1900G
Is RGB that much better than S-Video? 750TVL vs 600TVL which would y’all go for?

2021.09.16 18:11 oksobasically17 first time HHN advice?
I've never been to HHN before and I really want to go this year (HHN Orlando). I have some questions:
-How crowded is it normally and what are the wait times like? Does it get busier as it gets closer to Halloween?
-How scary is it actually? I've been interested in HHN for years, just never got around to going. I enjoy horror movies but I do get scared pretty easily. My main motivation for wanting to go this year is the Hill House feature - I'm a big fan of the show. So I'll definitely want to do that first. I also want to challenge myself to get involved in a new level of horror - I've never been to a haunted house before or anything like that so I'm not sure what to expect.
-How many attractions will I realistically be able to visit in one night? I have a relatively busy schedule and I live about 2 hours away from Orlando so I'm not going to be able to make trips to Universal every week. But I'm not sure how much I'll be able to experience if I just get a one-night pass.
-Any tips for how to make the most out of the night, if I get a single-night pass?
Any advice or experiences would be greatly appreciated!

2021.09.16 18:11 diatonico_ Belgian Two Lane Roundabouts...
... Why aren't they all turborotondes / intelligent roundabouts yet? Belgium just has 2 lanes, no pre-sorting whatsoever (mostly). You're supposed to use the inner (left) lane unless your exit is near, but you're also supposed to give priority to people in the right (outer) lane.
In theory 2 lanes = more capacity. But a) traffic laws luck, b) Belgian people can't drive.

2021.09.16 18:11 IknowGoodThings New Asset Class: Learn all about SME Equity Tokenization
TLDR: Small Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs) are about to have a new revolutionary funding tool at their disposal with the development of a new asset class: Equity Tokenization.
The latest interview of Smartlands’ CEO and Non-Executive Chairman, has sent Smartlands (SLT) on a price rally that brings back memories of the Spring bull run. Admittedly, the density of news during the one-hour video interview was staggering, and therefore this piece aspires to shed light on one very specific piece of news: the partnership of Smartlands with BIG-U.
BIG-U, Business Incubator Group Ukraine, is a non-government initiative that strives to boost and strengthen Ukraine’s small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The economy of Ukraine consists of over 99% of such SMEs - which is consistent and normal for a developing country. SMEs are one of the driving factors for economic development since they increase innovation and ensure economically-essential market competition. BIG-U’s goal is to provide consultation as well as funding to SMEs including start-ups in order to facilitate their business development in a country that might see a lack of structural support for entrepreneurs.
Here is where the platform solution of Smartlands comes into play. Fundraising for SMEs can be very tedious and limited, especially when they endeavour to raise more equity. Typically they are relegated to dealing with and borrowing from banks (yuck). With the power of tokenization on the Smartlands Platform, equity can be represented as tokens, opening the possibility of funding to a wider audience than just those mean old bankers. This not only allows SMEs to raise necessary funds in a unique and alternative way, but it also allows regular investors like you and me to profit from attractive, lower risk (and previously only to PE&VC available) returns and support the early-stage development of regional businesses. As with the often mentioned real-estate tokenization; Smartlands Platform users will be able to purchase, or even trade that equity on the platform. The primary and secondary market trading of those coins will generate fees (1% per trade) that will be converted into SLT, adding to buying pressure and distributed among staking investors. In practice, Smartlands has already been working on selecting twenty (20) preliminary SMEs that are approved for the initial listing, each looking to raise from $10k to $50k - which will likely represent between $400-600k of equity funding… but this is just the beginning. The potential is limitless.
The collaboration of BIG-U and Smartlands is a natural fit. While Smartlands is looking for attractive use cases for its platform, BIG-U, as an innovation-focussed project, is striving for automated and cheap processes, disrupting older tedious funding ways. Instrumental for this partnership was Eugene Barsukov, a director of BIG-U and native of tech-companies-heavy Odessa, who himself is a serial entrepreneur with significant connections in the Ukrainian start-up scene.
Furthermore, BIG-U is closely working with governmental initiatives as well as industry experts to reach their goals. Some of these industry experts are the directors of Empire State Capital (ESC) who are already working closely with Smartlands. Their expertise and connections in traditional finance like M&A and PE are pivotal to Smartlands and BIG-U in order to find connections to the real economy. A frequently appearing figure here is Julia Kurokhtina, who has been closely working with former Georgian president and Ukrainian governor of the Odessa region Mikheil Saakashvili. Additionally, they also work together with American development projects that support the creation of a business-friendly environment in the former Soviet republic. Not surprisingly these connections facilitate the work of both initiatives since the outreach of these individuals is enormous.
Now with the announcement of significant achievements in the Smartlands-BIG-U partnership during the last months by the Smartlands CEO Ilia Orbatzcov, we can expect some more juicy news with the first slate of SME equity expected to be tokenized over the next weeks, reinforcing the currently strong momentum and buying pressure of the Smartlands token.
